Published on the occasion of the first major retrospective of Dara Birnbaum's work. Since the 1970s Dara Birnbaum has been studying and making art about mass media. Her videos and installations often focus on the way we look at political events and how we are influenced and manipulated by images, television, and the media in general.

This book was published on the occasion of an exhibition by the same name held at Marian Goodman Gallery, New York in 2011. For this exhibition Orozco presented two new major bodies of work, first the Corplegados, a series of large format drawings realized over the course of a number of years.

This volume presents and describes 50 of the artist’s works with essays by leading Richter experts. It also includes personal testimonials in previously unpublished letters as well as a conversation between Gerhard Richter and Richter expert Uwe Schneede.
